How Orchard Financing Works

From initial inquiry to lender review

1

Tell Us the Basics

Share the purpose, amount, property, and how you expect to repay. Estimates are fine.

2

Review the Next Step With Our Team

We clarify your request and whether an available lending program may be worth exploring.

3

Complete the Formal Application

If you choose to proceed, complete the formal application and provide the documents the lender needs.

4

Lender Review

Nothing goes to underwriting until you say it's ready to go. The lender performs underwriting and decides whether to offer credit and on what terms.

Understanding Orchard Financing

Orchards are different from annual crops. When you plant corn, you harvest that same year. Plant an almond tree, and you're waiting years for commercial production.

That changes how financing can work. Some lenders build repayment around the development timeline, for example with interest-only or graduated payments while the trees come into production. The lender decides the structure.

Orchards are also long-term assets. A well-maintained almond orchard can produce for 25+ years. An apple orchard might last 30-40 years. That longevity affects both collateral value and how a loan is structured.

What You'll Need

To start your inquiry

  • The orchard's location, acreage, and what's planted
  • Roughly what it's worth, and how much you want to borrow
  • How you expect to repay
  • Estimates are fine

Later, if you move forward

The formal application may ask for:

  • Financial statements (balance sheet and income)
  • Recent tax returns
  • Production records, if the orchard is producing
  • Water rights and irrigation details
  • Everyone who will borrow or guarantee the loan

The exact list depends on the lender and the program. Our team will tell you what's needed.
